Amal Murad (AM) are part of the new young abaya designers from the Emirates who have taken the catwalk from the Dubai Fashion week by storm. A traditional fashion designers with her great admirers being from the classic couture fashion she is the De facto trend setter in the abaya fashion market. Her roots are from a Dubai artistic family and her young talent in abaya designing was spotted very early when she was only 15 years. The Emirates fashion magazines are covered with her unique designs which is very reminiscent to way popular designers such as Yves Saint Laurent would beautifully make sure of different fabrication to give not just a style but also a storey behind the garment. This is no surprise since after graduating from Dubai University she attended high end fashion shows and brushed with some of the worlds top designers who have grown with YSL design concepts. The classic ladies abaya dress has a very limited space to manoeuvre for any modern designer since certain basic features need to be inherit in the cloak. However Amal uses some very clever techniques to bring life to these abayas making then stand our in the crowd. The use of ground black colour and topping them with vivid bright colours has become to some extent a trade mark of AM designs

AM as a designer has used some of the latest fashion fabric trends and intelligently combined it with the classic abaya style to give a mixture of favours in classic orthodox to modern high street fashion. The use of plaid patterns including tartan which is usually associated with rock fashion clothing plus the use of dog tooth pattern which has been used by Adidas has brought a whole new concept in hijab fashion.
